Spiders come in many shapes and sizes, but all are predators. Web Spiders are like fisherman using webs like nets to catch insects or even other spiders. If they don't catching anything in one area, they often leave the web behind and build in a more suitable area. Hunting Spiders don't use webs to catch their meals, they do it the old fashion way. These spiders have evolved many hunting techniques using speed, agility or ambush to catch their prey.
Cockroaches are one of mans oldest nemesis.Since the dawn of time mankind has been smashing cockroaches. These fellas need heat and humidity to survive. This is why your likely to have a run in with one in a kitchen or a bathroom. In their spare time they like to reproduce and creep people out.
Here in Central Indiana we have the Eastern Subterranean Termite. These little guys do hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage to property across the United States every year. The worker termite looks like a piece of white rice and they hide in mud tubes that they construct. The reproductive termite (aka swarmer) looks like an ant with wings.
There are many types of ant species in Central Indiana. Identifying the habits of specific species is often key in effective control. Ant colonies are well organized, relentless working machines that will do whatever it takes to further their cause. Some species, when agitated, can bud off into multiple colonies, making problems double or triple.
Bed Bugs are small parasites that feed on human blood. They are soft bodied insects and are easily smooshed, leaving the famous red smear. If you think you may have bed bugs, call a professional exterminator immediately. Bedbugs are extremely difficult to control without proper training and years of experiance.
Fleas are parasites that feed on animal or human blood. These tiny guys bite hard and are sometimes difficult to control due to their long life cycle. Fleas are natures ticking time bombs, often laying in wait for a new host. Most flea infestations are caused from pets unknowingly introducing them indoors. Once inside, a life cycle begins and will continue until properly broken.
Rats are natures perfect design. They are extremely intelligent and highly resourceful. They have social communities often underground or hidden inside structures. Rats can survive in almost every condition and can be extremely difficult to control without proper training and years of experience.
Mice are curious, opportunistic feeders that can populate rapidly. They love to use items in your home to make nest with in the winter. In the warmer months they often steal bird seed from your garage, or maybe come in to check the pantry for something sweet.
